About
I've gotten many compliments on this piece, especially how I painted the frame to be an extension of the canvas. But that's because I didn't have much choice but to paint it. As an artist who thrifts 100% of my canvases, I'm limited to what I can find. When I'd found this item, it wasn't canvas at all, but a discarded DIY project; someone had turned it into a chalkboard with a cracked, hastily painted frame. But I loved the floral motif along the sides, as well as how solid the backing was (I suspect they swapped out the glass for a board of some kind), so I took it home, fixed it up, blacked it out, and laid down some beautiful blooms in the corner. I love how this is proof that even upcycled things can be pretty.
